CARING FOR THE ORPHAN AND POOR CHILDREN
"Mr.A.Parthiban and Mrs.Rita Parthiban with AIDS orphans and poor children of Tiruvannamalai"
"Twenty seven thousand children die every day out of which nineteen die every minute…among which AIDS deaths are fairly common"..……………………...UNICEF.
"AIDS orphans as children who lose their mother to AIDS before reaching the age of 15 years. Some of these children have also lost, or will later lose, their father as well to AIDS. A child whose father dies of AIDS typically experiences serious psychological, emotional, social and economic loss. The grandparents struggle to care for children orphaned by AIDS. These orphans run greater risks of malnutrition compared to children who have parents to look after them. They also may be the first to be denied education. Thus defined, there will be more than twenty million children orphaned by AIDS by the end of 2010"…...……….UNAIDS, WHO & UNICEF.
"Communities with a high proportion of orphans require urgent assistance," assistant administrator for Global Health. "Responses need to be focused and scaled up in communities with high proportions of orphans and children affected by HIV/AIDS. And communities with emerging orphan issues need to prepare now for the upcoming challenges."………………………Anne Peterson, USAID
